Introduction
According to the Competence-Based
Curriculum and the School-Based Curriculum (KTSP) for the SMP level, the
teaching and learning of English as a Foreign
Language (EFL) aim to develop the students’ skill in listening, reading,
speaking and writing. The students are expected to achieve competencies in
understanding oral and writing texts and to be able to express their thoughts
and ideas either in an oral or a written form especially in the forms of
narrative, recount, descriptive, procedure, and report texts

The
Objectives:
At the end of the teaching learning process the
students are able:
1. To
use the simple present tense in the descriptive text correctly
2. To
understand short functional texts correctly
3. To
do conversation by using asking agreement, expressing agreement and
expressing disagreement
4. To
implement the comparative and superlative degrees
5. To
construct paragraphs into a good descriptive text
6. To
write a short and simple essay in a descriptive text, accurately, fluently and
acceptably.
7. To
investigate the character building values of the descriptive text meaningfully

The Meeting 1
· Teacher prepares a descriptive texts: Parangtritis Beach
·
Teacher divides class into some groups,
each groups contains of four students
·
Teacher shares out each group a piece of
descriptive text about Parangtritis Beach
·
Teacher asks them to read it quickly to
find out new words.
·
Teacher asks them to write on the white board
the difficult or new words.
·
Teacher drills the words on the
blackboard and discusses the meaning with the class.
·
Teacher asks the students to read more and
discuss the text deeply.
·
Teacher tells them to consult to their
teacher if there is a problem.
·
Teacher asks the students to answer the
questions.
·
Teacher distributes the text 2 about
flower.
·
Teacher asks them to complete the text.
·
Teacher asks the students to state true
or false according to the text.
·
At last, teacher asks them to find the meaning according to the text.

Parangtritis Beach
One of the attractive beaches near
Yogyakarta is Parangtritis. Some of you may have been there, haven’t you?
Anyway, the beach is located aboutb27 km from Yogyakarta. To reach the
beach, you can take one of the easiest routes. The first route is the short
one through Kretek village. The second one is through Imogiri and Siluk
village. This road is longer but better-maintained.
Parangtritis is an enchanting sloping
beach combined with rocky hills, dunes and a white sandy beach. Through it
is famous as a recreational spot. Parangtritis is also a sacred place. Many
people come to the beach to mediate or to bring offerinngs to the sea. For
accommodation, there are many hotels and restaurants available. You might
well think about this beach as your next holiday visit.
